It started off with 17 students in three classes. Today, the school has grown to accommodate almost 80 students studying enthusiastically every Sunday. The School Committee, consists of 7 volunteers selected every year, is in charge of managing the school. All parents co-operate to the committee to operate the school by participating in events and undertaking school duties throughout the year.The school&#8217;s income is generated from the school admission fee, annual fee, tuition fees, government subsidies as well as through fund raising activities. These incomes are critical to cover operating expenses such as teacher&#8217;s fees, teaching materials and maintenance fees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">School Roster (Approximately three times per year)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each week, a school committee member is in charge and three parents are rostered on to work as a group. The group will check the safety of classrooms, open and close blinds, install rubbish bags, take photocopies and drive teachers as required to the station. Class K will learn to read and write words in the Hiragana character script. Class 1 to 6 students study Japanese by using the Japanese textbooks (authorised by the Japanese Department Of Education) suitable to their levels utilising a balanced development of listening, speaking, reading and writing. It is our aim to complete Year 6 textbook used in Japan at the final level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">International Class (BOX Class) &#8211; Indirect Method<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the international class, we have a special class called BOX Class. This class is designed to provide each student an environment where they are able to learn at their own pace, including preparation for HSC. Our qualified and experienced Japanese teacher explains grammar and vocabulary and culture, using both English and Japanese. Lessons cover all four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Activities include games, cultures, quiz and cooking in Japanese. Students&#8217; learning path is custom-made to all individual needs. Preschoolers must be at least 3 years and 6 months old in February when school commences and are scheduled to start Kindergarten the following year. Besides, the following three conditions must be met:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li data-start=\"116\" data-end=\"209\">\n<p data-start=\"119\" data-end=\"209\">Must be able to understand instructions in Japanese and participate in class activities.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"210\" data-end=\"312\">\n<p data-start=\"213\" data-end=\"312\">Must have acquired basic daily life skills and be fully toilet trained at the time of enrollment. This includes being able to manage age\u2011appropriate self\u2011care tasks such as dressing, handwashing, and tidying up.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"313\" data-end=\"453\">\n<p data-start=\"316\" data-end=\"453\">A parent must be able to participate in volunteer activities for school management\/operations through roles such as a committee member and school roaster.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Trial System<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are interested in enrolling your child to our school, it is possible for him\/her to have one day trial lesson.
